Navy (115.5) won the team crown by 16 points over second-place Air Force (99.5), who had two wrestlers win individual titles. Army also had two individual titles winners and finished third with 72.5 points, followed by The Citadel (56.5), VMI (35.0), Coast Guard (14.5), Merchant Marine (2.5) and Norwich (1.0). VMI's Neal Richards was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler after winning the 174-pound crown.
"I'm incredibly proud of the 10 guys who represented the Navy wrestling program today," said fifth-year Navy head coach Joel Sharratt. "In team tournaments it's imperative that every athlete contribute. The team came together and every single athlete scored big points to lead us to a TEAM victory. We showed great support for one another throughout the day as the team constantly filled up the corner in support of one another for every round and every bout.
"The transition from dual meets to a tournament format was a test of fortitude for these guys and they did a very good job of focusing on one match at a time and one point at a time."
The Highlights
• Navy has been the dominant team, winning 15 of the 25 championships including 12 of the last 16.
• The Mids have won 98 individual crowns in All-Academy Championship history, including 72 of the 160 titles over the last 16 years.
• The Mids won the team title in 1995, `97, `99, `04, `05, `06, `07, `09, '10, '11, '12, '13, '14, '18 and '19, while they claimed five or more individual titles in 1997, `99, `04, `05, `07, `08, '10, '11, '13, '17, '18 and '19.
• Four of the five Mids who claimed individual titles were first-time All-Academy Championship winners - Casey Cobb (133), Quentin Hovis (157), Tanner Skidgel (165) and Anthony Cable (184).
• Junior Jared Prince (149) earned his second All-Academy Championship in as many appearances. He was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler as a freshman in 2017, where he won the 141-pound title. He is the 23rd Navy wrestler to win at least two All-Academy Championship titles.
• It was the first appearance at the All-Academy Championship for seven Navy wrestlers - Jacob Allen (125), Casey Cobb (133), Quentin Hovis (157), Tanner Skidgel (165), Spencer Carey (174), Anthony Cable (184) and Joshua Roetman (197).
• Senior team captain Nicholas Gil earned his 100th collegiate victory with a 9-4 decision over Norwich's Drake Troyer in the semifinals. He is only the 16th wrestler in program history to reach 100 career wins. With a 100-38 career record, he is tied with former teammate Zack Davis (2015-18) for 15th on the Mids' all-time wins list. He trails 14th-place Aaron Kalil (2009-12) by just one win.

• As a coach it is rewarding to see your athletes hit major milestones in their careers. Nick Gil being recognized for his 100th career win made that round special. Ranking among the program's all-time top 16 in wins is an honor and doing it as a three-year starter is very impressive.
• Casey Cobb was a hammer this weekend and again delivered consistent performances against high-level opponents. He is also showing improvement every week and becoming a threat in multiple positions.
• Jared Prince wrestled a smart match in the finals against a unorthodox competitor who came out to wrestle him tough and smart. Jared made great match adjustments and showed the competitive fire he has. He is very exciting and always enjoyable for fans to watch and our team rallies behind his attitude and effort.
• Quentin Hovis stepped up his game this weekend and won matches over opposing athletes well ahead of him in seeding and in the NCAA Coaches Rankings. This is a big step for him in advancing towards his personal goals and our team goals.
• Tanner Skidgel was sharp in his performance throughout the day and he is getting better every week. He is both athletic and skilled and it was good to see him recognized in this week's NCAA Coaches Rankings. I expect to see continued improvement from him over the next six weeks.
• Anthony Cable wrestled an outstanding event and I am proud to see him winning this championship at such a special event. He wrestled well and knows he left some points off the board and is committed to improving to get where he wants to be and where we need him to be.
• I was very proud to see Josh Roetman's resilient effort after dropping a tough bout in the semifinals. He is a warrior who showed fortitude to reengage and overcome when things didn't go as expected.
What's Ahead
• The Midshipmen return to dual action on on Friday when they play host to Drexel. Action is set for 7:00 pm at Alumni Hall.
• Navy will also send roughly 20 wrestlers to Pennsylvania next Saturday to compete at the Edinboro Open.
