    Missouri inks Tennessee wrestler

Columbia, Mo. -– Missouri wrestling Head Coach Brian Smith announced today that Brandon Wright of Germantown, Tenn., has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete with the Tigers beginning in the fall of 2007. Wright is expected to wrestle at either 149 or 157 pounds for the Tigers, and is the ninth grappler in Smith's 2007-08 recruiting class.

A standout from Houston High School, Wright complied a 152-26 record with the Mustangs, earning back-to-back state titles at 152 and 160-pounds his junior and senior year, respectively.

"Brandon is one of the top wrestlers in the nation at his weight class," Smith said. "He's a talented wrestler and we're looking forward to getting him into the practice room where he can develop into a strong collegiate competitor."

Wright closed out his senior campaign with a 45-1 mark, earning his second National High School All-America honor and fourth regional title.

Planning to major in business, Wright will become the second Tennessee native on the Tiger wrestling squad, joining current redshirt freshman Nick Marable of Collierville, Tenn.
