    McKendree defeats Missouri Baptist

Lebanon, Ill. -- McKendree University's wrestlers won six matches to Missouri Baptist University's four, as the Bearcats went on to a 22-15 home victory on Wednesday.

Going into Wednesday's dual, Missouri Baptist was coming off two consecutive successful competitions, but came up just short at McKendree. Spartan freshman Efrain Aguilar continued his string of success, winning his match in the 125lb weight class by fall at 3:36. Aguilar, along with Esmond Ford, Tyler Holloway and Martin Rubacala all won matches for the team in the narrow defeat. Holloway is currently ranked fifth in the NAIA at 135lb while Rubacala is ranked 10th at 141lb.

The match was close all the way to the end, but the singular point that gave the Bearcats the advantage came at the 165lb weight class battle. McKendree won by forfeit, which gave the home team an advantage the rest of the way through.

On the other side of the coin, McKendree won two big battles over highly-ranked MBU grapplers. The Bearcats Andrew Davis defeated number five-ranked Lucas Keene 8-2 in the 197lb match and Ross Janney defeated number three-ranked Joe Kent in the heavyweight class.

The Spartans will get right back at it over the weekend at the Central Baptist College Invitational.
