2026 Preseason: A Look at Bucknell

With just under two months until the college regular season starts, we’ll turn most of our focus to the collegiate wrestling world. There will be lots of previews and content to get fans ready for the upcoming 2026-27 season.Today, we’ll focus on a Bucknell team that features four wrestlers with NCAA experience. Each of those four come in the second half of the Bison lineup. If they can get some of the lightweights sorted out, Bucknell could push for a national ranking.

Dan Wirnsberger’s team had an excellent showing at the EIWA Championships with two EIWA champions for the first time in program history. They’ve also had an EIWA champion in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2010-11. Their third-place finish tied a team high and their 126.5 points are the highest in program history at the EIWA meet. Four Bucknell wrestlers automatically qualified for nationals and a fifth received an at-large berth.

With a strong returning nucleus and some quality new faces, a memorable season could be in the cards for Bison fans.

Here’s a look at a projected lineup for Bucknell along with additional information needed for the 2026-27 season.
