In the second match, junior Captain Phillip Plowman returned to the line-up after a lengthy injury and dominated Lehigh's John Stout in an 11-2 major decision. Plowman twice had Stout on his back close to a pin and scored three takedowns in the match. His victory put Eastern up in the meet 7-0 but the next seven matches all belonged to the 11th ranked Mountain Hawks. They scored 25 straight points and led 25-7 going into the final match at 285 pounds.
EMU true freshman Jake Wood then beat Lehigh junior Dan Murrer 5-2 to complete the scoring. In a close match, Wood scored an exciting takedown in the final period to clinch his foirst collegiate dual meet victory since he stepped into the lineup to replace the injured senior Charlie Walker. Lehigh was led by the 3rd ranked Cory Cooperman who posted an 18-6 major decision at 141, 13th ranked Derek Zinck who beat Chad Roush 21-9 at 157, and 20th ranked Travis Frick who won by a 19-3 tech fall at 174.
