    East Stroudsburg defeats Millersville, 35-12

    EAST STROUDSBURG -- The East Stroudsburg University wrestling team parlayed two falls and two technical falls into a 35-12 decision over Millersville, Thursday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

    Nate Nauroth and Keith Smith each had falls for the Warriors while Keith Smith and Adam Karasevicz had technical falls. Dave Williams won by major decision

    The Warriors picked up a forfeit at 125 and then Nauroth had his third fall of the season, pinning John Andel in less than two minutes for an early 12-0 lead.

    ESU extended the lead to 15 when Kyle Ferris battled his way to a 2-0 win. Ferris and Cody Becker were in a scoreless match at 141 through three periods. Neither wrestler scored in the first minute of overtime. Each rode the other in 30-second periods. In sudden death, Ferris scored a takedown 32 seconds in for his sixth win of the season.

    Millersville had a fall at 149 before Mark Smith had a technical fall at 157. Smith scored back points in each period and settled for a 19-3 win. The match was stopped with five seconds left when Smith got three back points.

    Keith Smith gave ESU a 26-6 lead at 165. Smith had a takedown and three back points in the first period and pinned Malcolm Hayes in 4:09 for his first fall of the season.

    Millersville's Mark Knock had a reversal in the final 50 seconds and fought off Dave Sullivan for a 5-4 win at 174.

    Williams had two first-period takedowns, a takedown in the second, a reversal and two sets of near fall points in the third period for a 15-3 major decision at 184. It was Williams' second major decision of the season.

    ESU's Charles Deighton had a third-period reversal but could not get any back points and lost a 6-4 decision at 197.

    Karasevicz, at heavyweight, ended the night the way it started, with an ESU win. Karasevicz had three sets of three-point near-fall points in the first period, a takedown in the second and two more back points for a 16-0 win in 4:39.

    The Warriors, now 7-7, will wrestle next Saturday at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championships at Slippery Rock. Millersville fell to 1-3.
