The Dragons took extra-point wins in the first four matches to jump out to an early 18-0 lead. Zack Fuentes started things out for Drexel with an 8-0 major decision over the Diplomats' Edgar Garcia at 125 and then No. 13 Kevin Devoy Jr. followed with a win-by-fall just under four minutes into the 133 match. David Pearce extended Drexel's advantage with a major decision over Paddy Quinlan at 141 and No. 17 Matthew Cimato added a 15-3 victory at 149, which marked his seventh major decision of the season.
The Diplomats were able to get on the board in the 157 match, as Emmett LiCastri picked up a 5-3 decision over Willie Davis. Austin Rose retaliated, however, with a first period pin over Rob King at 165 and then Ebed Jarrell added a 14-4 major decision at 174 to put Drexel ahead, 28-3.
Franklin & Marshall's Anthony Mancini was able to secure a 4-0 win over Alex DeCiantis at 184, but with Joshua Murphy and No. 19 Joey Goodhart receiving forfeits at 197 and heavyweight the Dragons would ultimately walk away with a 40-6 victory.
The Dragons return to action later tonight, as they host the Hofstra Pride at the Daskalakis Athletic Center for their second dual of the day. Matches are set to begin at 7 p.m.
