Duke forfeited bouts at 165 and 125 pounds spotting the `Runners a quick twelve points. CSUB added nineteen more points when it took six of the eight contested bouts versus the Lancers.
Bakersfield took the first four weight classes starting at 149 pounds. Russell Rohlfing picked up a 4-0 decision over CBU's AJ Raya before Wyatt Gerl earned an 8-2 decision in the following bout at 157 lbs. Jacob Thalin won by forfeit at 165.
Albert Urias tallied a major decision for CSUB at 174 with a ten-point win over Jacob Cooper.
CBU would take the next three-straight bouts before Alejandro Hernandez-Figueroa won by forfeit at 125 pounds and Rich won by fall in four minutes over the Lancers' Christian Nunez for a twelve-point swing.
Bakersfield had a 28-9 lead heading into the final bout of the dual. Senior Noah Blakely-Beanes was a late substitution in the `Runners starting lineup. Blakely-Beanes had CBU's Adam Velasquez tied in the third period with riding time advantage but was still able to will a takedown in the final seconds for the 7-4 decision.
CSUB returns to action in two weeks when they travel for the Pac-12 Championships at Stanford.
