Ecker will join head coach Austin Devoe's staff looking to help carry the momentum of a program returning to national prominence. Over the past three seasons, Mines has gone 30-7 in duals while winning consecutive RMAC championships. The Orediggers have been a fixture in the national rankings peaking at #9 in 2020, and have produced nine NCAA qualifiers and a pair of All-Americans since 2018.

Ecker is a graduate of Ithaca, where he earned a degree in business administration finance and corporate accounting in 2012. He was an outstanding wrestler for the Bombers, becoming that program's first two-time NCAA Division III national champion with a 108-20 careeer record. He was a two-time CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-American and as a senior was voted the Men's At-Large Academic All-American of the Year, one of college sports' most prestigious academic honors. He is currently pursuing his MBA from Kutztown University.
