Bryant wears many hats in his involvement in wrestling. He is an award-winning journalist (recipient of the 2007 Dellinger Award as wrestling writer of the year by Amateur Wrestling News) as well as Ed Aliverti Golden Microphone Award-winning announcer of wrestling action at the NCAAs and the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
On the Mat is a presentation of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum. The show can be heard live on the Internet at 1650thefan.com or locally in Northeast Iowa each Wednesday at 5 p.m. Central on AM 1650, The Fan.
