ROSEMONT, Ill. -- The Big Ten Conference announced the preliminary seeds for the 2020 Big Ten Wrestling Championships, which are set for March 7-8 at Rutgers. Six schools boast at least one top-seeded wrestler, with Penn State leading the way with three No. 1 seeds. The pre-seeds, as voted on by the conference's coaches, rank 14 starters in all 10 weight classes.
Penn State boasts four top-seeded wrestlers, with 141-pounder Nick Lee, 165-pounder Vincenzo Joseph and 184-pounder Aaron Brooks. Iowa's Michael Kemerer (174) and Spencer Lee (125), Michigan's Mason Parris (285), Northwestern's Ryan Deakin (157), Ohio State's Kollin Moore (197) and Sammy Sasso (149), and Wisconsin's Seth Gross (133) round out the group of top-ranked grapplers.
This year's field contains a combined six Big Ten individual championships (four wrestlers) and six NCAA individual championships (five wrestlers).
