Oklahoma takes on Nebraska in Big 12 showdown

NORMAN, Okla. -- The No. 11/11 Oklahoma Sooners (8-5-1, 0-3) travel to Lincoln, Neb., Friday, Feb. 10, to takes on the No. 3/3 Nebraska Cornhuskers (11-4, 1-1) at 7 p.m., inside the NU Coliseum.

"This is an important dual for our team and we need to be ready to compete," said head coach Jack Spates. "We are very close to putting all the pieces together as a team and we need to stay focused and keep competing. Nebraska is an excellent team and we need to be ready to wrestle."

OU last defeated the Cornhuskers, 20-15, in Norman in 2003. The Sooners hold a 34-12-1 advantage in the all-time series. Last season the Conrhuskers defeated the Sooners 16-15 at Norman High School and have won the last two duals between the schools.

The Sooners are coming off a disappointing 17-16 loss to No. 12/14 Missouri last Sunday in Columbia, Mo. The Sooners split the 10 matches, but were unable to come away with bonus points to seal the victory. Sam Hazewinkel continued his unbeaten streak by defeating No. 18 Austin DeVoe. Hazewinkel's winning streak is now at 24.

The Sooners are set to grapple Hofstra on Sunday inside the Ford Center in Oklahoma City as part of the ESPNU Double Dual Invitational.
