    Michigan State victorious over Maryland in Big Ten action

    EAST LANSING, Mich. -- The Michigan State wrestling team broke out of a slump on Sunday, January 27, defeating Maryland University by a final score of 28-12. Michigan State won five bouts by way of bonus points en route to their second Big Ten victory of the season.

    With a win on Sunday the Spartans improved to 5-6 overall on the year with a 2-4 mark in Big Ten action. This is best Big Ten record for MSU since the 2009 season in which they defeated Michigan and Purdue.

    Michigan State welcomes Bloomsburg and Northern Illinois to Jenison Field House on Saturday, February 2 for a tri-meet. Michigan State will kick things off against Bloomsburg at 12:00 p.m. ET and their start against Northern Illinois is projected for 4:00 p.m. ET that afternoon.
