2012 Big Ten tickets go on sale Dec. 1

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- All-Session tickets for the 2012 Big Ten Wrestling Championships are set to go on sale Thursday, Dec. 1, at 9 a.m. as Purdue will host the championship in Mackey Arena on March 3-4, 2012. The Boilermakers are set to host the event for the first time since 2000, as it will be the first Big Ten Championship held in the new Mackey Arena.

An all-session pass for reserved seating in the lower bowl of the arena is set at $40 per seat, while general admission seating in the upper bowl is $36 for adults and $24 for youth. If still available, single-session tickets will go on sale Wednesday, Feb. 15.

“We're absolutely thrilled to host Big Ten's,” said Boilermaker head coach Scott Hinkel. “This is one of the most prestigious college events in any sport, and to have the opportunity to hold it here in Mackey Arena is a great honor. We intend to put on a first-class event and showcase some of the best wrestlers in the nation.”

This year's championship marks just the seventh time Purdue has hosted the Big Ten Wrestling Championships, welcoming the conference's best first in 1926, and following with events in 1929, 1940, 1971, 1989 and 2000. The Big Ten features some of the nation's best talent, year-in and year-out, including the last five NCAA team champions, eight of the current top-25 teams in the nation and four of the No. 1 wrestlers in the nation at their respective weight classes.
