    Allen's Pierce commits to Oklahoma

    Oliver Pierce (Allen, Texas), one of the nation's top juniors, has given a verbal commitment to the University of Oklahoma.

    He is ranked No. 8 nationally at 160 pounds and 11th overall among juniors.

    Pierce reached the bronze medal match at the 2011 FILA Cadet World Championships in freestyle at 69 kilos (152 pounds).

    Pierce was a Junior National double All-American this past summer in Fargo, finishing runner-up in Greco-Roman and fifth in freestyle. He was a Cadet National freestyle champion in 2010, and a Cadet National Greco-Roman champion in 2009.

    Pierce entered his junior season with a career record of 84-1. He was an undefeated state champion as a freshman in 2010.
