The portal news isn’t stopping today! We’ve learned another All-American has entered the portal today. The latest is Virginia Tech All-American TJ Stewart. Stewart earned All-American honors as a redshirt freshman in 2024 when he won an ACC title and then finished seventh in the nation. To clinch a spot on the podium, Stewart edged Cornell All-American Chris Foca, 3-2.
This year, Stewart got off to a rough start and was never able to recover. Stewart missed the first couple of weeks and then started the year with two dual losses before going 0-2 at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. Stewart ended up finishing 12-12 and fourth in the ACC and was not able to receive an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament.
Through two years of competition, Stewart holds a 26-16 career record.
Coming out of high school, Stewart was deemed the #8 overall recruit in the Class of 2022. He won freestyle titles in Fargo at the 16U and Junior levels, along with the Beast of the East and Ironman.
