Against WSCU, Air Force won its first seven bouts to stake a 26-0 lead before the Mountaineers came back to win decisions in the final three weight classes. Junior Jesse Stafford (Loomis, Calif.) led the way for the Falcons, scoring a technicall fall at 165 pounds, while Natrelle Demison (Fr., Bakersfield, Calif.), Josh Kreimier (Sr., Fort Collins, Colo.) and Konner Witt (So., Oak Harbor, Ohio) posted major decisions at 149, 157 and 174 pounds, respectively.
In their second dual of the day, the Falcons won eight of 10 bouts, with Kreimier, Stafford and 197-pounder Jack Carda (Jr., Kimball, S.D.) registering falls to lead Air Force. Meanwhile, Air Force won eight straight matches to start its dual versus Colorado Mesa, before dropping its final two bouts. Rinker and Stafford were the top performers against the Mavericks, each recording falls, while Kreimier scored a technical fall.
Air Force closed out the day with a clean sweep victory over Simon Fraser, winning five matches by fall. Josh Martinez (So., Colorado Springs, Colo.), David Walker (Fr., St. Marys, Iowa), Demison, Daniel Baucke (Sr., Memphis, Tenn.) and Carda all scored pins, while Carter McElhany (So., Colorado Springs, Colo.) added a technical fall to help lead the Falcons to victory.
The Falcons return to action next Saturday, Jan, 18, when they head to Corvallis, Ore., for a pair of duals versus Oregon State and Southern Oregon.
