    2 All-Americans on the Move

Monday evening saw a pair of All-Americans announce their future plans after entering the transfer portal. Ryan Crookham will go from Lehigh to Iowa as a graduate transfer. Zan Fugitt comes back to his home state, Missouri, after competing in the Big Ten at Wisconsin.

Both wrestlers All-American’ed at 133 lbs, though Fugitt is expected to move up to 141 lbs next season.

Crookham should have multiple years of eligibility remaining. He certainly has one, but has also missed the majority of two seasons due to injuries. When healthy, Crookham has been one of the top 133 lbers in the nation. He only lost one as a redshirt freshman and posted two wins over the returning national and world champion, Vito Arujau.

During the 2025-26 season, Crookham debuted in January and posted wins over the eventual EIWA and Ivy League champions during dual meet competition. Late in the month, he was injured at the Bloomsburg Open and lost for the season.

Iowa has a significant need at 133 lbs with the graduation of three-time All-American Drake Ayala. A healthy Crookham could be a wild card in an already-exciting 133 lb bracket.

With Crookham aboard, Iowa could unleash a lineup that features six returning All-Americans.

Fugitt will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Tigers. As a redshirt freshman, Fugitt went on an excellent run at the NCAA Championships and made the semifinals as the #14 seed. After losing to Ayala in the semifinals, Fugitt bounced back to take fourth. Fugitt didn’t have the same fortunes in 2025-26. Despite a better Big Ten finish (4th; compared to 9th), he received the #16 seed in Cleveland and went 1-2.

Help is definitely needed at 141 lbs for Missouri. One of their starters, Zeke Seltzer, is currently in the transfer portal. Their conference tournament entrant, Easton Hilton, went 0-2 at the Big 12 Championships. With Fugitt in the lineup, Missouri now has three returning AA’s.

This offseason has certainly been interesting because of the portal. I don’t see it showing any signs of stopping soon.
