I managed to score a ticket from a friend who has connections through a particular program (not my favorite school, but close enough!). Is there some way to determine which section(s) have been allocated to which schools, without having the ticket in hand at the moment?

They DO have it on ESPN+... also on TV /ESPN... as far as I can tell (I'm NOT running up stairs to turn on the TV!)
D3
It is *not* on ESPN+. It is on ESPN, ESPNU, and ESPN3. You have to have a TV subscription to something.

Help me out here with Cornell's Ramirez at 165 and Foca at 184. Both wrestled unattached in December, as they were not enrolled at Cornell in the first semester. Both have wrestled five dual meet matches since then (only three before the Coaches Poll, I think), wrestling attached for Cornell; both are 5-0 in those dual meets. Ramirez was 6-1 wrestling unattached in those open tournaments against D1 opponents, and Foca was 3-1 in same.
Ramirez appears at #5 at 165, while Foca doesn't appear at all at 184. Intermat has both at 10-1 prior to their two duals this weekend. What's the difference?

And will not be eligible for NCAA championships...
The Ivy League Executive Director would disagree:
QuoteThe announcement details how the Ivy League’s membership in Division I and access to NCAA championships are not affected by this decision and states that Ivy League athletic rosters will still not be subject to roster limits imposed by the NCAA.

From an email from the Cornell AD:
other big news unfolded earlier this week when the Ivy League announced that all eight schools will be opting out of the impending NCAA House Settlement. The decision to "not opt in" means the Ivy League schools:- Will not change long standing rules, including those that prohibit any form of compensation for participation in any intercollegiate athletics program ("Pay for play").
- Will continue to not provide student-athletes with revenue sharing allocations, athletics scholarships, or direct NIL payments; and
- Will not be subject to the roster limits established by the settlement for NCAA championship sports.

Tournament scoring is top heavy. Last year, Cornell finished 2nd with 3 AAs and Nebraska finished 9th with 5 AAs. Likewise, dual scoring probably compresses the difference too much. A double OT win via riding time is worth 3 points while a 14 point win is only worth 1 additional team points.
FWIW, in the 2024 NCAA tournament Nebraska scored 10 bonus points (not counting the one MFF they received). Cornell scored 19.5 bonus points. So, 7.5 (counting that MFF) of the 12 point difference between the teams was due to bonus victories.
I don't dispute your statement, by the way. Cornell has done well recently at NCAAs by having a few guys score huge points.

Why do I get the feeling you already know the answer to your question?
Perhaps because you know more than nothing?

The ranking services just can't quit him.
Intermat still has him ranked #17 and WrestleStat has him all the way up at #5. Only Flo seems to have gotten the memo.
Pretty sure that Cornell hasn’t put out a press release on Greg. Quick question: who has wrestled more recently: Greg Diakomihalis or Jacori Teemer?

With a potential payout of $200,000 I wouldn't be surprised if Cael changes his mind. Makes it well worth it for his program.
Meh. What's that, 1/5 of a Bassett?

Is Greg Diakomihalis out for the season or is he just out temporarily? He hasn't wrestled a match since November 24th.
Cornell has an annual Giving Day, in which team members call up previous and prospective donors and ask for donations. This year, I got Ethan Fernandez, but the Site Administrator for the Cornell wrestling forum got Greg
QuoteI spoke with Greg D. Very nice kid. As most are aware, he is out for the season, but fortunately he will be back next year.
For what it is worth.

Also the amount of time he’s been enrolled, right?
Well, he matriculated the year after Foca and Ramirez, and he took a "medical redshirt" which just means he wasn't enrolled (I guess), so it's possible he still has time. "Four in six" is the rule now, although that may have just been a COVID-year allowance.
Clear as mud.

I believe Greg would need to transfer and get a medical shirt if he wants to wrestle next year.
Is there something other than graduating that prevents him from returning to Cornell next year?

Brett Ungar hasn't wrestled since December 6th. Is he coming back? Staying 33 or going back down?
In their absence, Milani and Ferrera have done very well. So maybe they are taking their time getting back to form, knowing that the team will not suffer in the meantime. I'm just wondering if anyone knows the plan.
Greg D is out for the season. Ungar was supposed to be at the Cyclone Open after descending to 125, but I don't know if he didn't make the trip or didn't make the weight. Perhaps Coach Grey will give more info in his weekly email update in a day or two.
The plan (until this weekend) was for Ungar to descend to and remain at 125 this year, and for Ferrera to stay at 133 for the remainder of the season.
Did I mention that Ferrera was injured in his second match this weekend (after winning his first over Intermat #20 and ESPN expert Cory Land), and MFFd the following match? No idea what will occur going forward.
The best laid plans of coaches and wrestlers gang aft agley...

So, Cory Land doesn't understand how ESPN works wrt college wrestling and announcing. He probably thinks that ESPN rolls up a tractor trailer or two and sets up all the cameras, microphones, and has a dedicated announcing booth staffed with the best announcers.

Maybe my new favorite wrestler. Go to 36:00 (match only lasts a couple of minutes).

Here you go!
There are several other videos of their many matches out there. Generally very entertaining, even if I didn't like most of the results!
Says something about Shapiro that he majored him and pinned him in their two meetings (discounting the third in which Andonian injury defaulted).

It seems weird that Shapiro is one of the only ones to got to just the tenth digit AND to match last year's total. Though there are some others like Levi Haines with 6 last year and 6 projected.
Then they have Julian Ramirez scoring 3.94 bonus after scoring 0 last year. So not everything is a carry over from the prior year.
As a matter of fact, they have the other two 7.5 bonus point scorers from last year scoring 2.95 and 3.38 this year.
I see no way to reverse engineer their algo.
I see that Shapiro is now only credited with 6.56 bonus points, despite getting two TFs in his two recent matches. Go figure.

Ben Darmstadt. 18 pins in his first full season at D1 (tied with Dake and behind only Gabe Dean in the Cornell record book). One of the few guys who would choose top and against whom others would choose neutral. Could get a pin from top, bottom, and neutral. Was like wrestling an octopus with legs and arms everywhere. "Famously" beat 4xAA and then-#2 Willie Miklus 9-0 with 6:11 riding time despite Miklus taking neutral to start the third. MAGA: "Make Assassin Great Again"

Maybe because Mizzou is losing the dual, but the camera crew is focusing almost 100% on the adjoining gymnastic meet rather than wrestling. Strange becasue this broadcast link was advertised on the Cornell wrestling page.
Ah, so you watched the actual gymnastics meet stream, instead of the dedicated ESPN+ wrestling stream. It's not too late:

If you go to the Cornel Wrestling site, click watch. Depending on the TV service you use, you can watch a poorly televised version of the dual.
Poorly televised? You must have watched something other than the ESPN+ stream I saw. Professional announcers, professional camera work, accurate scoring and clocks, only mispronounced "Foca". Got "Shapiro" correct. Only saw the gymnasts in the background on rare occasions (did see that coach in the red and white outfit a few times).

FWIW, there was confusion as to how the Cornell vs. Mizzou match tonight was going to be streamed, as it is in conjunction with a Mizzou women's gymnastic event. It will be streamed on ESPN+ here: https://www.espn.com/espnplus/player/_/id/716a9c4f-261e-4bcc-9715-012aab884a02
Link appeared on ESPN+'s schedule moments ago.

As for bonus points, I have no idea how they are determining those at the individual wrestler level. There does not seem to be much of a seed component to the values produced, so it must rely heavily on the individual wrestler results.
N=1: Shapiro got 7.5 bonus points last NCAA tournament, and WS is crediting him to score 7.5 points this year.

Counter with Dave Auble. Bolded bits are what might boost him above Lee. From Cornell Wrestling's record book (I believe this was before freshman eligibility):
