Graduate Assistant: Wrestling
Glenville State College is looking for a highly motivated coach or aspiring coach, to serve as graduate assistant for the college's Division II Wrestling program. The candidate will report to the head coach, and serve a 10-month appointment.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
•Assist in the recruitment of student-athletes.
•Maintain and tracking equipment.
•Assist the Head Coach with practices, game preparations, running drills, helping with camps, keeping stats of team and scouting.
•Assist in logistics for both traveling to away games and management of home games.
•Assist the Head Coach in roster management and supporting current student-athletes.
•Assist with camps and other team events such as fundraisers, community service, etc.
•Loyalty, trust and excellent communication to head coach.
•Must comply with university, athletic department and NCAA rules and regulations.
•Registered and enrolled in a graduate degree program at an institution that has a working agreement with Glenville State's GA program.
•An undergraduate degree
•Excellent leadership skills
•Sound interpersonal skills
•Exceptional organizational skills
•Solid written and verbal skills
•Basic computer literacy
•Strong knowledge in all areas of the throwing events
•Collegiate experience wrestling is a requirement for the position, preference may be given to those candidates with previous coaching experience ◦Examples: helping with camps, coaching club, private lessons.
•Must be hardworking, have a positive attitude, and have a team-first mentality.
Basic Position Benefits
•Lodging in Campus Housing
•$1000 food stipend in the campus dining hall ($500 per semester)
•$4000 salary stipend ($2000 per semester)
•Up to six credit hours of paid graduate school through Salem University per semester.
