Job Title: Assistant Wrestling Coach

Physical Location:Kent, OH

Salary:

Basic Function:

Assist in coaching, recruiting, counseling, conditioning, and training the intercollegiate wrestling team. Reports to Head Wrestling Coach.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:

Assist in coaching the wrestling team; utilize coaching and teaching methods to develop student athletes' skills and teamwork.

Assist with the development of team strategy; analyze performance of student athletes.

Scout and recruit student athletes.

Assist in fund raising activities to subsidize athletic program; may assist in marketing and public relations activities to promote the program.

Counsel and advise student athletes with personal and academic problems.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and one year of experience coaching wrestling. Or a combination of education, coaching, and NCAA Division I or II playing experience equivalent to a total of five years.

License/Certification:



Knowledge Of:

National Collegiate Athletics Association and Mid-American Conference rules and regulations *
Standard practices in student athlete scouting and recruiting

Skill In:

Training or instructing student athletes *
Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication *
Basic computer skills *

Ability To:

Analyze situations and develop solutions *
Travel
Work non-traditional hours *

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Typically requires balance, strength, flexibility, and endurance sufficient to demonstrate, teach, and develop skills of student athletes. Must be able to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building and off-campus frequently.
