Hunter College Head Wrestling Coach

Hunter College, an NCAA division III wrestling program, is accepting applications for the position of Head Wrestling Coach. The head coach reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for all aspects of the Wrestling program. This includes but is not limited to recruitment, retention, practice planning and execution, game strategy, alumni management, fundraising and community service. This is a part-time coaching position for 12 months a year.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Overall program leadership- leading and supervising all aspects of the program including but not limited to:

• Maintain and uphold compliance with Hunter College, NCAA and any Associations affiliated with the program
• Recruitment
• Retention
• Academic support of the student-athletes
• Practice planning and execution
• Skill development
• In-match strategy and development
• Alumni connection
• Assistant coach oversight
• Fundraising
• Budgetary responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS: Strong communication, organizational and managerial skills. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends. Demonstrates ability and willingness to work as a team member and to work independently. Problem-solver with the initiative and follow-through skills. Must have valid Driver’s License.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred

EXPERIENCE: Four year’s coaching experience giving preference to intercollegiate athletics experience.
