Bo and the Ford Focus?

The buzz is that both are locks for the top spot next year - and the three following.

A lot of excitement as the Squawkeyes now have two potential 4 timers - with potential being actual rather than just crazy thinking.

A few fans even think both will be 4 timers and undefeated - as TheTerribleTwins push to out do Cael.

Will it happen?

DAmn, all the drama... getting ahead of myself. Hard to do when you are old & slow.

If you want a kid to be a four timer, it might not be great to put four-timer pressure on him right out of the gate.

I really enjoyed the "kid is going to be a four-timer" era.

Rocco might have a little bit say about that.

Is Rocco planning to move up to 184? 184 will be fun to watch for years to come with the young talent. Angelo Ferrari, Max McEnally, Aedon Sinclair, Bennet Berge, Zach Ryder and others that I am probably forgetting.

I have no idea on what Basset plans on doing next year, but he should graduate early and enroll at Iowa next year.

He is past high school in terms of competition.

I’d say Sinclair is a notch or 2 behind the other guys you mentioned, but it’s definitely going to be a fun weight.

Bo would not ready to win an NCAA title one year from now. But he's only a junior in HS, and I doubt whether he'll be ready to win one two years from now even.

I've seen it a hundred times, guys proclaimed as the wrestling equivalent of Jesus. It wasn't that long ago that Carter Young was being touted because he beat Gross in a FS match. Carter has had an average career and is an R16 guy. Not bad, but much worse than anybody would've guessed he'd do. If Bo beat a D1 champ in a folkstyle match, then I'd be super impressed at his D1 potential, but beating a folk champ in a FS match? Still impressive, but not nearly as much.

Sinclair is very good. I think he will be in the mix. And yes I know Plott handled him this year.

It's funny because he will be older next year than Levi was when Levi almost won it.

I would say Sinclair is physically a notch or 2 behind those guys. Technically, I think he's the best of that group.

He needs to spend a year developing into a full '84.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was a '65 pounder if he cut weight like most guys. He just doesn't cut. He probably got down to '84 by skipping a meal. So a year of lifting, working on building up to 200 walking around(which is probably not easy if he's working out regularly) and then go '84?

I think he can be a 4Xer.

To be clear though, I see...probably 6-7 kids a year coming in that I CAN envision being 4X Champs in a given year. I don't think they actually will. This year I guess I have just Lillendahl, Barr and then most other weights are still so stacked, but I'd say McEnally if not for 2 of the best Wrestlers at '84 in a while.

But down the road, Knox, Blaze, Bo, Jax, Ross, Sinclair, Ferrari, Duke, Lockett, Arnold(maybe)...I'm tired, but not one would shock me if they won it as a Freshmen which means...potential 4X Champs. I tend to just look at the potential rather than the realistic outcome. I had Haines and Mesenbrink a full year before either stepped on the mat for PSU...and sure, I was wrong, but...close. I'm still curious how we're going to rank Mesenbrink when he goes through his career with a 99.8% Bonus/TF rate with 1 loss and goes 2/1/1/1 with a RT confusion from being a 4X undefeated champ.

I'll give Duke the best shot if they can figure out how he can go '57 or'65 as a Freshmen. I didn't mention Raney(s) or Zepeda

HS kids are so much more ready now it's...silly.

It's about the grind of the D1 season. Which is why match counts nowadays have been cut by nearly 1/3, because the grind of a D1 season is FREAKING HARD. Beating a D1 champ in a one-off match, although would be very impressive, it still wouldn't be a 100% accurate representation of if he's ready to win a title.

Hs senior vs True freshman age wise. Not that crazy.

Levi competed in an NCAA final as a 17 year old, IIRC.

Bo is already older than that with another year of HS remaining.

Sinclair beat Josh Barr twice in FS last year. Just FYI.

Freestyle success doesn’t always translate to collegiate folkstyle success and he got nearly teched by Plott, when one of the wrestlers in that group beat him. He also was almost teched by Buchanan and had a couple other losses but I won’t hold that against him.
