If he makes the team, he is going to have to miss a lot of coaching time to train for worlds. It's a distraction and seems to be driven by ego. He is trying to copy his daddy, Cael. The new staff has pushed the idea that coaches wrestle with the team instead of sitting on the wall. Worlds are in 7 weeks. It seems like training for worlds will consist of him wrestling with his team a lot over the next 7 weeks. If he doesn't make the team it seems like he'd spend the next 7 weeks wrestling with his team. The opposite. I think this is a great idea. He can coach and prep for Worlds and show his team how it's done on the biggest stage. I think this can be very motivating and potentially serve as an exercise in bringing the team together. It was a distraction for Cael when he did it back in 2011 and the team suffered greatly for it as they dropped from 1st in 2011 to 1st in 2012.
