Might anyone here have heard, yet, about Princeton U.'s wrestling coaching situation now that their longstanding head coach (Ayres) has made a commitment to move on to Stanford U.?    Hopefully Princeton can continue its favorable momentum...  Here's more on Coach Ayres' accomplishments at Princeton:

  • TitleIX is ripe for reform changed the title to Princeton U.'s wrestling situation, post Coach Ayres (who is heading to Stanford)?

Oof. I am assuming it was NOT someone with a Princeton degree who wrote this sentence:

FAST FACTS ABOUT CHRIS AYRES

• after Princeton had eight All-Americans ever before 2016, has coached five different ones since (Brett Harner, Matthew Kolodzik, Patrick Brucki, Patrick Glory, Quincy Monday)

Some say he's like a miniature Doberman when coaching.

I do not know if that's to be true... though I've seen him to be, uh, energetic in the corner for the Princeton grapplers.

Kyle Dake has some coaching experience.   Or might he have his heart set on the '24 Olympics?

Meanwhile, his rival Jordan Burroughs (a NJ native) comes to mind...

That said, someone with quite an academic background would seemingly be well suited for the job.  It's Princeton, after all.   The wrestlers will have serious academic pressures on them.

Any idea what 2002 NCAA finalist Greg Parker's up to these days?   I recall he was a computer science major at Princeton... Maybe after 2 decades of that stuff, he's ready to get into coaching?   Admittedly, it's been said that assistant coaching experience is very much needed by head coaches.

Shouldn't this be in the separated at birth thread?

For those doubters, sure this is a reach but not impossible if Cruise makes all the right moves and Princeton simply shows him the money.

Anyone think Hahn might be the guy?

Seems like a great choice because he saw first hand how Koll operated. But he might have to move into a smaller house coming from South Dakota-so it would be a lifestyle change.

Nickerson seems to be under the radar, but he's done a good job given the circumstances.  Would love to see him get a shot as well.

I imagine Novo will have input on this decision so not sure if he has preferences based on his interactions with USAW.  Maybe Bill Zaddick or Slay?

Maybe an outside the box suggestion but what about Ernie Monaco?

Anytime these coaching positions open up, Hahn's name is on the list of possible candidates.  Is he unhappy at SDSU? Has he been actively looking for another team?  If he is looking for the next step in his career, I feel like SDSU to Princeton is a horizontal step rather that vertical.  Could be off on that though.

Hahn went to HS in NJ about an hour from Princeton.  Although Lakewood and Princeton are basically different planets
