Presented below is the thread in which there was a $1,000 bet made between yours truly and @Ban Basketball.

Please read the evidence and register your vote on whether @Ban Basketball is guilty or not.

Do NOT let him bully or intimidate you and vote based upon the evidence.

The New Jersey All-Century (2001-2012) Team forum topic covers the years 2001 through 2012.  Ban's comment below did not specify the exact years.

Coach Penrith coached from 2001 to 2010.  It is unclear from Ban's statement which 10 years he refers to.  Logically, he could refer to coach Penrith's tenure.

Bob Dole infers that the 10 years must be the last 10 years from 2003 to 2012 by stating 'Actually it is only 9 AAs in the past 10 years chief.' and listing AA during those years.  Ban says it's 14 AAs, which is correct for 2001 to 2010.  Ban does not correct Bob Dole that he is referring to 2001 to 2010 or Penrith tenure but his rebuttal implies he agrees to the 2003 to 2012 range.  Bob calls out 'in the last 10 years' when attempting to accept the bet, as if an attempt to confirm the time period.

Weasel words are the true victors.

There was no inferring even being attempted or insinuating until BB lost the bet.  Then he weaseled out of it.

Under technicality, @jrossis correct.  It was clear that BB weaseled out of having to pay by saying he inferred a different set of dates.  There was no reason for anybody to believe otherwise aside for himself which was a deliberate attempted at being a turdbiscuit (you know what I am saying here, gents).

I must applaud his tenacity in claiming he won that exchange.  He lost.  Everybody lost and left the thread even more stupid than before they entered it as a direct result of his (BB) poor attempt at being a turdbiscuit.

For that and that alone he should have to donate $2k to CKWC for having wasted my time twice now.  The first time in 2012 and the second time just now.

jross's analysis is very much correct. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say that BB weaseled anything though. Senator Dole should have not taken the bait to make a pointless (yet oddly high dollar) wager on easily verifiable trivia.

 

I vote an unqualified not guilty, and shame on anyone for holding onto a grudge over this silly pissing contest for 11 years!

so if you read the whole thing 10 years ago and you re-read it again now, how much more stupid does one become.  Is it simple 2x or ^2 and does it put one at BB stupid level?

Ah now we see the reason the estimable BobDole has relegated BB to the hinterlands on the boards all these years.   I never figured it was a personal vendetta but the possibility is compelling.  I'm sure BB did not make it too difficult for BobDole to make those decisions. 

I vote BB free and clear based on Jross's very good analysis of the situation.   Plus BB has done his time in purgatory.   Let him be free!!

My guess is Ban Basketball just disappears for awhile now.  Then he will pop up on a new wrestling forum, with same exact handle, talking smack about the Hawkeyes while simultaneously sucking Cael's thumb. 

Then someone like me will clapback a little towards him, and his insecurities will result in a meltdown, accusing everyone of attacking him for the last 20 years. Rinse and repeat.  He is the definition of dishing it out, but can't take it.

This MUST be considered: show us where the final conditions of the bet were agreed upon,  with the virtual handshake that agreed upon the terms.  The terms were not agreed upon.

Exactly.  The exact terms of the bet were never agreed upon.
