BREAKING: DHS confirms to @FoxNews that ICE just arrested a Mexican illegal alien in the sanctuary city of Chicago who was charged in April w/ concealing the body of a missing Illinois woman in a storage container on his yard for almost 2 months & abusing her corpse. Despite the severity of the charges, Lake County Judge Randie Bruno released him from custody immediately after his first court appearance in April. I’m told 52-year-old Jose Luis Mendoza-Gonzalez was just found & arrested by ICE at a market in Chicago this afternoon, and he is currently in ICE custody. Police in Waukegan, IL say they found the body of 37-year-old Megan Bos, who had been reported missing on March 9th, in a container in Mendoza-Gonzalez’s yard in Waukegan in April. Mendoza-Gonzalez was charged with concealing her corpse, abusing it, and obstruction of justice. DHS says Bos’ corpse had been decapitated and she was found in bleach in the storage container. DHS statement to FOX via @TriciaOhio: “It is absolutely repulsive this monster walked free on Illinois’s streets after allegedly committing such a heinous crime. Of course you are right that traditionally the term pork applied to the old Robert Byrd model of bringing federal money back to the district or state to serve a purely local interest. I expanded the term to beyond a geographical constituency to an ideological constituency - applying the concept of pork barrel to an expenditure serving only one side of the political spectrum. Cancelling the programs is no more base pandering than funding the programs. Your last statement shows we are in agreement about this being analogous the the Broken Windows Policing theory. The message (i.e. marketing) is the value.

Individually, none of these charges are a big deal. It seems way worse when it is a list. Four hand guns? In Texas, that would be called a good start. But, it is nice balance so far. Reciprocity rules used to be quite daunting, but have been getting much easier to understand. Vape pen? Oh my, crime of the century. Now, driving under the influence is a problem, but I don't think that was one of the charges. Registration expired, another major crime. When I moved to State College, all I had for almost two years was a worn out paper saying I had a valid SC drives license, which I had lost at some point prior. When I finally went to get a PA drivers license at some rural outpost (early 80's), Officer Friend didn't take kindly to me not having done it earlier. He then gave me my exam orally. He asked me crazy questions off the top of his head like maximum weight for a class C commercial license. I failed and he handed me a book to study for the next attempt. Learned my lesson, but I didn't do any jail time. I hope it turns into a nothing burger.

Penn State?

It is not those three words, it is these two words I disagree with, pork barrel. These are not pork barrel items. These all have national, or international, impact. Their removal fits the reverse defenition. They represent pandering to the base to win votes. This is not about the value of the programs, it is about the marketing value of cancelling them.

Several points of discussion here: 1 - It is still against the law - just like speeding is against the law. 2 - Current documents implies proper documents were in place at one time. So, let's stipulate that lapsed documents is not a crime. However, just like speeding this violation comes with penalties. Additionally, the penalties escalate with the severity of the circumstances. You can lose your privilege to drive and be jailed for speeding so egregiously that you endanger life and limb of others. For legal (at one time) aliens the penalty can range from "fix it in 2 weeks" to deportation with no option to return. 3 - Driving without a license or on a suspended license is a crime. If proper immigration and residence papers were never obtained then we are dealing with criminals, not civil violators. 4 - Another apt analogy to the traffic comparison: Traffic check points for seat belts or DUI. People who are stone cold sober and wearing their seat belts get "swept up". Then they are quickly released when they are not the target of the enforcement action. Source: living in America

I agree they are piddly in terms of deficit reduction. But I also am a subscriber to the broken windows theory of policing. And making your bed every morning. These piddly cuts are the pork barrel budgeting analogy to fixing windows, clearing graffiti, and nipping it in the bud. Watching the officiating of matches in the earlier rounds of Greco was….interesting. In a lot of matches it seemed that every point led to a conference.

Putting this on the college forum because there are very few posts on the women’s forum, and since HWC wrestlers rarely wrestle internationally (kidding, kinda) it probably didn’t deserve to be on the international board. I had noticed awhile back that a lot of Iowa’s women’s wrestlers when they wrestled in non-college events technically competed under the “Iowa Women’s Wrestling Club,” not HWC. However I believe Kennedy Blades is part of HWC? Is she the only woman on HWC? And If they’re going to have Blades on HWC, why the separation at all? Does this have to do with the Park Merry situation?

Nope. Not true. (see Trip's post above) But 100% of the current President has committed a long list of crimes, including at least a couple dozen felonies. (See link in earlier post.)
