InterMat Classic Info

What: The InterMat Classic is a preseason high school wrestling tournament.

Event date, location and time: The date, location and time has not been set for the 2019 InterMat Classic.

Who is eligible: Wrestlers in grades 7 through 12 are eligible to compete. There is only a high school division.

Style: Folkstyle (scholastic style) rules will be used. Championship bracket matches will be 2-2-2 in length, while consolation matches will be 2-1-1 in length.

Weight classes: 100, 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220 and 285. There is a three-pound allowance.

Admission: Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for students (18 and under), and free for children under 6.

Coaches: A coaches/floor wristband may be purchased at the door for $15. No other coaching credential is required.

Cause: The InterMat Classic was created in honor of Justin Kukowski, an avid athlete and sports fan who passed away from brain cancer in 2007. The proceeds from the event will go to the Justin Kukowski Foundation.

Seeding: Wrestlers will be seeded by the InterMat Classic seeding committee based on state, regional, and national accomplishments, as well as past InterMat Classic placement. When registering, there is an option to include accomplishments for seeding purposes.
