NJ RTC Head Coach
The newly formed NJ RTC between Princeton and Rutgers will be conducting a national search for the Head Coach Position. Below is the job responsibilities and expectations.
Coach and Train Resident Athletes
• Coach, train and recruit resident athletes to build the foundation of the New Jersey RTC while preparing them to win on the World and Olympic level.
o Develop an overview of the types/number of athletes that will help build the foundation of the NJ RTC.
o Fill a roster with one resident athletes at each of the six Olympic freestyle weights
o Establish a training overview and practice schedule (on-site and off-site) for resident athletes that shows how you will develop, prepare and train them for competition. External events may include:
Attending training camps at OTC with both resident athletes and college athletes
o Recruit resident athletes per the NJ RTC goals and vision
o Develop a competition schedule that may include attending some or all of the following:
NYAC, Dave Shultz, Sunkist Open, US Open and WTT.
Work closely with USA Wrestling and NYAC on scheduling foreign tours
• Other responsibilities may include
o Attend tournaments with college athletes; UWW Junior Nationals and University Nationals
o Attend open tournaments with red shirt athletes when freestyle schedule permits
o Attend Princeton and Rutgers wrestling camps when schedule permits.
New Jersey Regional Training Center Vision
To create a training environment that is conducive to producing World and Olympic medalists while further enhancing the Olympic styles on the youth and high school levels in New Jersey.
Develop the Program and Vision of the New Jersey Regional Training Center
o Review, edit and execute the NJ RTC vision
o Create measurable objectives that are date driven to show progress towards annual goals
Establish and Execute Annual Fundraising Plan in Line with the New Jersey RTC Goals
o Determine with the team the annual NJ RTC fundraising goals and use of these funds
o Athlete funding will include monthly stipend, travel expenses (if not picked up from outside club)
o Research key fundraising activities and establish the NJ RTC top 5 fundraising events.
Potentially Develop Team New Jersey Program
o Be a key member of the Team New Jersey Coaching Staff
Run Team New Jersey Training camp sessions
Attend Fargo National Championships
• Must demonstrate strong leadership skills and be committed to the goals of the NJ RTC
• Must have strong communication skills, the ability to work as a team with coaches, athletes and program donors
• Extensive Freestyle background
• International experience required
• Meets and upholds standards and image of both Princeton University and Rutgers University
• Four year commitment
• USAW certified or/ Bronze Certified
o Salary is negotiable with experience.
