Youth / Middle School Coaches - Los Angeles

Beat the Streets - LA is searching for outstanding youth coaching candidates to fill multiple coaching vacancies for new programs set to begin this Fall season.

Position Title: Youth Wrestling Coach
Location: Various – Greater Los Angeles area
Organization: Beat the Streets – Los Angeles
Reports to: Beat the Streets – Los Angeles Executive Staff

Qualifications:
• High School or Collegiate wrestling experience
• 21 Years of age
• High School Diploma
• Live Scan Background Check and TB (tubercle bacillus) Test
• First Aid/CPR/AED Certification (within 1 month of hire)
• Attend required BTSLA Coaches Education Course

Responsibilities:
• Recruitment of students
• Family and Community outreach to expand program
• Wrestling Instruction and skill development
• Participate in occasional clinic and competition event
• Daily mat cleaning, set-up and breakdown

Essential Functions:
• Keep attendance/participation records and report back to executive staff weekly
• Organize practice schedules and practice plans
• Encourage children to interact positively with others
• Teach benefits of good sportsmanship, discipline, a strong work ethic and other important life lessons
• Make practices interesting and fun by incorporating wrestling specific games and activities

Skills and Abilities:
• Must possess a strong understanding and commitment to the Beat the Streets - Los Angeles mission and coaching philosophy
• Must be organized, creative, self-motivated, enthusiastic, dependable, detail-oriented

Availability:
• 2 or 3 days a week for 2.5 hours/day
• Occasionally on weekends
• Coaches must attend periodic coaches meetings
