Graduate Assistant – Wrestling / Secondary Responsibility
Reports to: Head Wrestling Coach


Lake Erie College, located in Painesville, OH, invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant –Wrestling Coach. Lake Erie College is an NCAA II Program, that competes in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference {GLIAC}. The Graduate Assistant coach is responsible for duties as assigned by the Wrestling Coach and will manage a secondary responsibility as defined. This is a 10-month appointment.

General Responsibilities:

• Acts as a visible person to represent the College in a positive manner and to heighten the awareness of the institution to all of its constituents.

• Assist in coaching all aspects of the program.

• Scout, evaluate, and coordinate mailings and databases with potential recruits.

• Work closely with the promotional and team fundraising efforts.

• Follow all institutional and NCAA regulations regarding recruiting and operations of the program.

• Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management or related field preferred. Acceptance in to Lake Erie College Graduate School Program. Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, rules and regulations of athletic associations and conferences. Knowledge and skill in using integrated software systems and Microsoft applications.

Special Requirements:
Qualified applicants will have the availability to work evening and weekends, possess a valid driver’s license for transportation of team in vans or bus, and the ability to travel for team practices, competition and scouting. Subject to a criminal background check prior to employment.
