Position: Varsity Wrestling Coach
Salary: As stipulated in WHEA teacher contract
Description: The varsity Wrestling coach is responsible for all facets of the Wrestling program. The successful candidate must employ sound educational principles and goals to promote athletics as part of the overall school program.

Model strong values and character including: sportsmanship, work ethic, teamwork, dedication, determination, resiliency and loyalty.
Have full control of the team (s) in all matters pertaining to coaching and student-athlete discipline.
Be knowledgeable and responsible for promoting and enforcing policies and information
contained in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Handbook and the Whitman-Hanson Regional High School Student Handbook.
Supervise all assistant coaches both paid and volunteer.
Attend all Patriot League, Whitman-Hanson Athletic Department and other meetings as scheduled.
Stay informed of rule changes, trends, and recommendations that affect high school wrestling. Attend clinics and other professional development opportunities to be sure our students are receiving the very best instruction and coaching.
Effectively prepare for and plan all practices with clear and specific objectives. Be present at each practice session and at all contests. This includes supervision, at all times, of the weight room, locker room and practice areas while any student-athlete is utilizing the facilities.
Make sure that the facilities and equipment are secured and that safety procedures are taught and
followed in all areas.
Implement game plans and game management procedures.
Process medical forms, parent/guardian consent forms and eligibility reports in accordance with Whitman-Hanson Athletic Department policy.
Establish communication with teachers in order to monitor student-athletes in the classroom.
Work with community members who are involved in youth sports in order to help develop the long term success of the program.
Develop a plan for effective fundraising.
Effectively communicate with the press.
Have an awareness of school athletic awards policy and procedures. Attend the annual Kiwanis Banquet at the end of the school year
Assist student-athletes in college search issue as needed. Have current knowledge of NCAA and NIAA recruiting policies, regulations and admission requirements.
Follow procedures for completing end-of-season responsibilities
Perform other duties/responsibilities assigned by the Director of Athletics
Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
Applicants must possess or be able to demonstrate ability to possess Red Cross CPR and First Aid
Applicants must possess and/or commit to completion of the MIAA Coaches Education Class and
other requirements by the MIAA.
Applicants should have prior high school coaching experience.
