Head Assistant, DI program
Campbell University Wrestling, an NCAA D-1 program competing in the SoCon (Southern Conference), invites expressions of interest for the position of Head Assistant Wrestling Coach. This is a #1 Assistant Position.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop the program alongside the Head Coach and new athletic administration and also benefit from brand new wrestling facilities including new: wrestling room (2.5 mats), convocation center for home matches (3,000 seats), wrestling locker room and weight room.

Bachelorís degree required. Two years successful coaching experience in one or more areas of athlete development, team recruitment or administration for Wrestling is preferred. Will also strongly consider candidates with superior personal performance and achievement in wrestling in combination with relevant life experiences from which coaching ability can be effectively projected. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, proven ability to recruit quality student-athletes preferred; must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record and have the ability to travel, as required.
The successful candidate must have great communication and motivational skills as well as the ability and commitment to work within the Christian mission and purpose of Campbell University. If selected, a criminal background screening is required.
The Head Assistant Coach will be responsible for providing coaching and administrative assistance to the Head Coach as well as promoting the philosophy and objectives of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, to include adhering to all Departmental, University, Conference and NCAA policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities to include, but not limited to: Assisting with the scouting and recruitment of student-athletes, to include assisting with on-campus and off-campus visits of prospective student-athletes; monitor the conditioning and training of student-athletes in conjunction with the strength and conditioning coaches and athletic training staff; assist in the planning and administration of the off-season training program; counseling team members in academic, disciplinary and personal matters, to include consulting with the staff of Academic Services, Compliance and other University administrators to resolve issues; advise and counsel student-athletes regarding their obligations to comply with all rules and regulations related to financial aid and eligibility, as well as personal conduct; assist in coordinating team travel arrangements, as requested, and traveling with the team to monitor the conduct of student-athletes; assist with the development of schedules for practice and competition; cooperate with all coaches and administrative staff within Intercollegiate Athletics to enhance overall departmental operations; perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head Coach. This position is not eligible for benefits.
