Bears Wrestling Club Coach (Brown University)

Posted about 4 months ago by anderton

The Bears Wrestling Club in Providence, RI, is looking to add an additional wrestling club coach to join the staff for the 2019-2020 season. The club started 6 years ago and has grown into one of the premier clubs in the area. With the increase in club members, we are looking to add an experienced staff member. The club has beginner to elite level wrestlers and trains and competes year-round. The current staff has 2 former D1 athletes and coaches. We also work alongside the Brown University Wrestling coaching staff and athletes.

The club competes at local tournaments, dual events, and travels to national level events such as Super 32, NHSCA Nationals, Journeymen Classic, Fargo, etc. We have a young group of very talented wrestlers and have sent a number of wrestlers to college wrestling programs.

The ideal candidate would be someone to help the wrestling club director run the program year round. Responsibilities would include:

Teach instruction and running club practices
Practice and competition schedule
Event planning
Fundraising
Social media updates
Website maintenance
Any other day to day administrative duties

This is a part-time position with other opportunities to earn additional income through private lessons, camps, and clinics. Most of the foundation for the club has been built and we would like to add someone that is ambitious and dedicated to build upon it. If you are interested in this position, please email your contact info, resume, wrestling credentials/background and 3 references to Tyler Grayson at bearswrestlingclub@gmail.com.
