Assistant Wrestling Coach
Stanford University seeks a qualified individual for the full-time position of Assistant Wrestling Coach. This position will report to the Head Coach of Wrestling. The assistant coach would assist the head coach in the administration of all aspects of the wrestling program. Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following:
Instructing and coaching student-athletes, practice planning, recruiting, team travel, video coordination, marketing/promotions, alumni development, assisting and monitoring student-athlete’s academic progress, teaching PE classes, assisting with summer camps and other administrative duties. Must be able to establish and maintain effective interaction with students, colleagues, university staff, administrators, alumni and the public.
This position, along with all Stanford Athletics coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of Stanford’s intercollegiate athletics program and for the reputation of Stanford University. This position is responsible for insuring that his/her involvement with Athletic Department activities maintains the integrity of the University’s reputation and does not negatively impact the relationship between the University and its faculty, staff, students and alumni. Additionally, this position must comply with University policies and procedures, NCAA and Pacific-10 rules and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able and willing to drill and live wrestle on a daily basis at a division one level.
Bachelor’s degree required and a minimum of 3-4 years of collegiate wrestling experience. Demonstrated ability to complete tasks under deadline. Demonstrated ability to set priorities in order to perform a high volume of detailed work with constant interruptions. Flexibility and willingness to work as a team player.
