Grad Assistant- Immediate Opening
Ottawa University, (Surprise) Arizona currently seeks qualified candidates to fill its open Graduate Assistant positions.
The selected candidate(s) will be granted tuition waiver (18 credit hours per year) for one of Ottawa University's graduate programs, a meal allowance, housing (subject to availability) and a bi-weekly stipend paid over 12 months (renewable for a second year as qualified).

General Job Description
Responsible for the administration of a Surprise Residential Campus Club Program including: the recruitment of students who are also Club Program participants; manage game and practice scheduling for program; manage public relations for the program; provide academic support for Club Program students; manage budget and any fundraising initiatives; and manage retention of students who participate as members of the program. Travel is required.
Recruit prospective students who will also participate as a member of the Club Program. Assist them with the required information for admission to the school. Provide continuing conversations and contacts to prospective student/club participant. Guide them through the enrollment process. Maintain priority of recruiting students who are a "good fit" with the University as well as to the Club Program. Meet enrollment targets including the retention of students who are part of the Club Program. Assure you are working collaboratively and effectively with assigned EA and Director of Club Sports Program related to each recruit including utilizing the database to update information related to contact with recruits.
Work as a member of a recruitment team and provide support to processes/goals of the admissions, financial aid, business and registrar's offices. Streamline enrollment processes to provide an efficient and smooth transition for the prospective student. Provide for strong public relations both internally as well as to external constituencies.
Provide leadership and direction to the Club Program as well as to the individual needs of members. Work toward team unity as well as the general unity of the Surprise Residential Campus. Initiate and follow a program and schedule that is consistent, reasonable, and effective for the student and the team. Provide regular support and direction to students.
Under the direction of the Director, develop the specific budget and manage expenses during the year to assure that they remain within approved funding levels.
Provide a strong academic emphasis and support of academics through your leadership and activities of the program. Be mindful of the contribution each student/program participant makes to the Surprise community including academic performance and participation in and contribution to non-program activities.
Understand the University's policies and procedures and exercise judgment accordingly. Assure that University and student information is handled in a confidential and ethical manner in alignment with the University's Code of Conduct.
Provide leadership to those with whom you work through your conduct, attitude, and professionalism. Represent the University to students, external groups, faculty and staff in a way that reflects well on the University. Support, embrace, and mentor the Christian principles of the University as well as be committed to the educational mission of the University.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
Qualified candidates must have successful team/programming experience; as well as experience leading a team in the designated program area.

Required Status with Ottawa University:
Acceptance into one of OU's master's programs.
The selected candidate will be granted tuition waiver (18 credit hours per year) for one of Ottawa University's graduate program, and a $269.23 bi-weekly living expense stipend (renewable for a second year as qualified) as long as you are successfully meeting the criteria of the graduate assistant program.
