Urbana University- Assistant Coach, Wrestling/Football
Urbana University, a division of Franklin University, currently has an opening for a full-time Assistant Coach who will split time between the Football and Wrestling programs. The Assistant coach will spend his/her time supporting the sport that is in season 75% and the sport that is not in season 25%. The selected individual will coordinate activities through the Head Coaches of these programs and will assist him/her in recruiting, instructing and retaining highly skilled student athletes for the programs.The Assistant Coach will provide instruction on the fundamentals, details and strategies of each sport and will counsel student athletes in sport participation, personal development and academics. Specifically he/she will be responsible for creating a day-to-day plan for athletes to follow while in season and instituting a program with focus on development as well as recovery. He/she will also be responsible for monitoring student-athletes’ academic progress. In addition, the Assistant Coach will adhere to all policies and regulations of the Executive Director of Athletics, University, Mountain East Conference and NCAA Division II and will be responsible for other duties as assigned by the respective Head Coach.
We seek someone with a Bachelor’s degree who has had playing or coaching experience in these sports at the college, university or professional level. The selected individual must have the ability to effectively teach and communicate the mechanics and fundamentals of football and wrestling. In addition, the Assistant Coach must have a proven record of integrity, high principles and demonstrated skill in developing and motivating student athletes academically and athletically, a valid driver’s license and have a satisfactory background check once given an offer of employment.
