High School Assistant Coach / McDonald County High School (Anderson, Missouri)

McDonald County High School (located in Anderson, Missouri) is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Wrestling Coach for the 2018-19 season. McDonald County High School Wrestling has had a total of 22 state placers in past 14 years and this year had it’s first individual State Champion (who will be returning next season) along with an additional state qualifier who both helped lead the team to a top 15 Class 3 team finish in State.
Candidates for this position must have must have completed 60 college credit hours from an accredited institution College wrestling experience is preferred and should have knowledge and experience in Freestyle & Greco styles as well. A teaching position within the district may be in contingency with the coaching position. Current available teaching vacancies in the District can be viewed at the following website:
Duties of this position will include:
• Coaching Junior Varsity wrestling as assigned by the head coach and assisting with all wrestlers within the program
• Assist the head coach in program events and practices (items include scoring meets, running bullpens, track wrestling programs and event set-up)
• Assist the head coach in planning, organizing and operating efficient practices
• Assist with the preparation of junior varsity and varsity events (home & away)
• Attend and assist off-season workouts, camps and activities as deemed necessary by the head coach
• Be able to effectively communicate with students/athletes regarding their progress, performance and critical needs to improve
• Be able to effectively communicate with parents
