A little history; Payson has won ten state titles, and over 25 region titles. Payson was once named "Small Town Wrestling Capital in America".
We have sent kids on to all levels of wrestling from JUCO to NCAA Div 1 institutes. We would love for a coach to come bring us back into prominence. Our middle school program numbers have grown from about 18 two years ago to over 35 this last season. We currently have a strong elementary following as well. Our current head coach accepted the head football position, so you will have someone at the helm of our football program that is very supportive of football players wrestling. Our AD is also a past head wrestling coach as well. You would already have some outstanding assistants to help build the program. We also host a great varsity tournament every year, and a JV one as well. About every other year we also host our middle school league championship tournament .

Summary: Promote sportsmanship and foster good character in our student athletes. Provide for the safety and welfare of all participants. Supervise students in practice areas, locker rooms, buses, and at all times during the season. Stress the importance of academics. Push the concept of pursuing victory with honor. Teach skills necessary for competition from the basics to advanced level depending on the athlete. Exercise patience, tolerance and diplomacy in relations with all players, parents, co-workers, officials, and spectators. Interscholastic activities are an extension of the classroom and as such, your actions, behavior, and interactions with our student athletes should be reflective of this.
Promote the multiple sport athlete and support the other athletic programs on campus.
Develop a vibrant off season program in the spring and summer, and strong youth program. Take student athletes to spring and summer national level events and summer camps, tournaments.
