Math Teacher & Wrestling Coach

Germantown Academy in Ft. Washington, PA (just north of Philadelphia) is seeking an experienced high school math teacher and wrestling coach.

The wrestling coach will become part of a team of devoted wrestling people dedicated to creating an effective K-12 vertically-aligned developmental program. At present, there are opportunities to coach and lead at the HS level, the MS level, and even the Youth level.

The math position currently available at GA is not linked to wrestling, per se; however, the school does fill most coaching posts with full-time teachers.

All candidates must exhibit an appreciation of, a sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological and ethnic backgrounds. Qualified applicants for the Math position will meet the following criteria:

 MS/MEd or PhD in Mathematics
 Minimum of 2 years teaching Mathematics at the high school level
 Ability to teach a range of Mathematic course to 9th through 12th grade students. These should include levels of Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus and Calculus.
 Experience teaching Statistics
 Ability to serve as an Advisor to 8-10 Upper School students
 Participation in Upper School life in meaningful ways outside the classroom (coaching, leading extracurriculars, etc.)
