University of Jamestown Women's Wrestling Head Coach
The University of Jamestown (NAIA), located in Jamestown, ND, is seeking applicants for head coach of our nationally ranked women’s wrestling program.
The selected candidate will ensure the team operates and conducts themselves within the ideals, goals, rules and regulations set forth by University of Jamestown and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The head coach will embrace and promote the five core character values of the NAIA Champions of Character; respect, integrity, responsibility, servant leadership and sportsmanship as well as the tenants of the University of Jamestown Journey to Success; Look Inward, Look Outward, Look Beyond and Look Forward. This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics. The Head Coach provides leadership, organization, supervision, instruction and strategic planning for the Jimmie Women’s Wrestling Team. The responsibilities of the head coach include, but are not limited to:
Fostering an atmosphere promoting academic success and personal development
Meeting recruiting and retention goals
Establishing an effective communication plan with student-athletes
Planning a competitive schedule
Conducting practices in a safe environment
Organizing home events
Effectively managing the budget
Fundraising for additional program needs
Providing safe and efficient travel to competitions
Implementing an effective community service plan
Promoting the women’s wrestling program in the college and community
Training and supervision of staff
Ordering equipment to serve the needs of the program
Maintaining an accurate inventory of uniforms and equipment
The head coach will also be responsible for other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director. This is a 10-month, full-time staff position.
Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) and previous collegiate freestyle wrestling coaching experience.
