The Rutgers wrestling program took its first step under new head coach Scott Goodale with the Red & Black Match on Friday, Nov. 2, at the College Ave. Gym. Twenty wrestlers competed against each other in their first live action of the season.
“I thought the kids competed hard,†said Goodale. “It is difficult to really be wide open in your approach because you are competing against someone you train with everyday. I thought our conditioning was fine and I felt the match was necessary to put our kids in a competitive situation before the season started.â€
