Virginia Tech continues hot streak with win over Lehigh

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- 12th-ranked Virginia Tech won its seventh dual in a row on Sunday as the Hokies defeated No. 24 Lehigh, 23-9, in Grace Hall.

Tech (7-2) won seven of the 10 bouts including four straight wins to start the match from 125 pounds through 149. Redshirt senior Zack Zavatsky, ranked eighth in the country, registered a minor upset over No. 7 Ryan Preisch, 7-2, that clinched the dual for the Hokies.

The Hokies will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 1, when they travel to Duke for a 7 p.m. match.

  • The series between Virginia Tech and Lehigh is now tied at 3-3.
